Our Gingerbread Man Story section offers a creative way to develop speech and language skills in children. There are lots of versions of the Gingerbread Man. This is the story I use and modify depending on the group! You do not need to read the WHOLE story. MODIFY to keep your child's attention! Use props and chase each other taking turns being the gingerbread man!!

Use toys and props to go with the gingerbread man for embedded practice!
Use playdough for making pretend cookies, cookie cutters, cookie toys, rolling pins. Get items from your kitchen, MAKE real cookies!
Decorate the cookies. Get messy and have FUN!

Following Directions and Basic Concepts: Hidden Gingerbread Man activity. Say, "find the gingerbread man that is under the tree" or "where is the gingerbread man".
Gingerbread Body Part Activity: Use the gingerbread man printables and band aides and tape or velcro them on the body parts. Run and fall and say, "oh no! I hurt my head" then put the band aid on. Using yourself or stuffed animals will work, too!
